Through its 17 member countries* CEPI represents 800 pulp, paper and board producing companies across Europe, ranging from small and medium sized companies to multi-nationals, and 1,200 paper mills. The European paper industry is one of the most competitive and sustainable in Europe producing 100 million tonnes of paper and board and 40 million tonnes of pulp annually. Together they represent 27% of world production. In the development of this framework, CEPI has been working together closely with CEPIFINE, the European association of fine paper manufacturers (www. CITPA is the leading association of the paper and board converting industry in Europe. CITPA represents about 5.000 mostly small and medium-sized firms and the following associations: ACE − , The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (www.beveragecarton.eu).
